The Parent Trap Houses in Napa Valley & London

by HOOKEDONHOUSES on MARCH 29, 2009

In the 1998 remake of Disney’s The Parent Trap, the lovely Natasha Richardson played the mother of precocious twins Annie and Hallie (Lindsay Lohan). She was so warm and loving as Elizabeth that it was hard to believe that she had willingly given up one of her girls to her ex-husband (Dennis Quaid). But you have to suspend your disbelief in a movie like this and just enjoy the ride.

Elizabeth is a wedding-gown designer, living in this beautiful house in London with the twin she kept–her daughter Annie:

Hallie, pretending to be Annie, sees her mother’s home for the first time:

The dining room:

Elizabeth’s bedroom:

Meanwhile, back at the ranch that Dennis Quaid’s character Nick owns in Napa Valley:

Annie, posing as Hallie, arrives at her dad’s vineyard for the first time:

Nick’s longtime, loyal housekeeper Chessy, runs out to greet Hallie, who has been at summer camp for 8 weeks:

Hallie’s bedroom:

Annie and Hallie play cards while their parents have some “alone time:”

In the kitchen at the ranch:

The twins’ plan to get their parents back together works, and Nick and Elizabeth remarry. Gotta love a happy ending!

The Staglin Family Vineyard was used for the film. You can see some photos they took during the filming on their website. Linda at Silver Screen Surroundings posted photos from Parent Trap, too–a lot are similar to the ones I took, but there are a few other angles from various sets you might like to see (I did!).

UPDATE: You can see photos from the original 1961 movie in this post: The Parent Trap: Two Sisters, Two Houses.
